 What is Computer?

In basic term, a computer is an electronic device that process data, converting it into information that is  useful to people. Any Computer regardless of its type- is controlled by programmed instructions, which gives the machine a purpose and tell it what to do.

1. Personal Computer :-  A personal computer That is designed to sit on desk or table. These are the systems you see all around you, in school, homes, and office.

Mainframe Computers :- Mainframe computers or mainframes, also known as "big iron", are computers used primarily by large organizations for critical applications; bulk data processing, such as census, industry and consumer statistics; enterprise resource planning; and transaction processing. ... Mainframe computers are often used as servers

3. Mini Computers :- a small computer that is intermediate between a microcomputer and a mainframe in size, speed, and capacity, that can support time-sharing, and that is often dedicated to a single application.

4. Super Computer :- A supercomputer is a computer with a high level of performance as compared to a general-purpose computer. The performance of a supercomputer is commonly measured in floating-point operations per second (FLOPS) instead of million instructions per second (MIPS).

A complete computer system consists of mainly three parts.

1. Hardware (The computer)

2. Software (Programs)

3. Data (Information)

Software 

Software is a set of instructions that makes the computer perform tasks. In other words we can say that, software tells the computer what to do. Here the program refers to any piece of software

 Hardware

The mechanical devices that make up the computer are called Hardware. A computer's hardware consists of interconnected electronic devices that you can use to control the operation, input , and output.
