Linux Distribution


A Linux Distribution is a connection of (usually open source) software on the top of a Linux Kernal. A distribution (or short, distro) can bundle server software, system management tools, documentation and many desktop applications in a central secure software repository. A distro aims to provide a common look and feel, secure and easy software management and often a specific operational purpose.                Linux can be freely redistributed, you can obtained it in a variety of ways. Various individuals and organizations package Linux, often combining it with free or proprietary applications. Such a package that includes all the software you need to install and run Linux is called a Linux distribution.
